Sam has had a minor cough for about a week now. Yesterday he started complaining of a headache and when I took his temp it was 102.

He stayed home from school and was fine all day (his temp stayed at around 100). Normal self really until around 3:30 when the Ibuprofen wore off and his temp started to climb once again. More Ibuprofen - VERY short nap = happy kid.

His temp started to climb again (around 10 pm) before he was due for more Ibuprofen so I gave him Tylenol and again he was fine. Took his temp around 4 am and it was 100.

At 6 am he woke me crying about a headache. He was burning up. I took his temp and it was 104 - that wakes you up REALLY fast. He was crying about his stomach, head and throat hurting.

Daniel who is away (his Dad passed away last week; kids and I went for the funeral but left Daniel behind for a few more days to help his Mom out) was treated for strep last week. So I thought it prudent to make an appointment for Sam to be seen just in case.

Of course - with Ibuprofen on board he is his happy self again: no complaints whatsoever (except that he wants to go to school).

My doctor is going to think I'm a moron.
